Susan Keays

Susan joined the Foundation in 2024. Susan has two daughters, Corinne and Kathryn, who both attend BFCCPS. Susan serves on the Board of Trustees of the school and is a member of the Human Resources and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committees.

Susan assumed the role of President & CEO of Italian Home for Children in 2021 after serving as Chief Operating Officer. Susan joined the organization in 2016. She has 20 years of experience working with youth in residential, inpatient, outpatient, emergency rooms, and homes. Her strengths include program implementation and expansion, strategic planning, fiscal turnaround, and stakeholder relations.  Susan received her undergraduate degree in Psychology and Latin American Studies from Boston College. She later returned to her alma mater to earn her Master of Social Work degree.

Joseph Perna

Joseph has been a director on the BFEF since 2015. Joseph has three daughters Eloise, Lucie and Mae, who all attend BFCCPS.  Joseph is proud to have served on the BFEF during the design and construction process for the school facility that opened in 2019 to accommodate the expanded school enrollment.

Joseph is currently in the role of Head of School at BFCCPS.  Joseph has 25 years of experience in education, and holds a MA in Education and Teacher Research from Clark University. Joseph also earned his Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at Clark University.   Prior to joining BFCCPS Joseph taught 3rd grade in the Worcester Public Schools and at the Lowell Community Charter School.  He has been a proud member of the BFCCPS faculty and staff since 2004.  Joseph joined BFCCPS as the K-8 art teacher. While a part of the faculty Joseph served as trustee on the Board of Trustees in the role of Faculty Representative for 6 years. As a member of the school administration Joseph served as  Director of School Operations, and Assistant Head of School before assuming the role of Head of School in 2018.  

Manisha Thanneeru

Manisha is the Director for the BFE Foundation and a passionate advocate for public education and student success. With a background in Engineering and Business Administration, she brings both analytical insight and strategic vision to every initiative she undertakes. A mother of two—Vaayu, a first grader, and Mihira, age four—Manisha is deeply invested in creating enriching educational experiences that support all students. She is enthusiastic and experienced in organizing community-focused events that foster connection and collaboration. In her full-time role as Senior Director of Product Management at ZRG Partners, a global talent advisory firm, she blends innovation with leadership to drive impactful results.
